A peristaltic pump, also commonly known as a roller pump, is a type of positive displacement pump used for pumping a variety of fluids. The fluid is contained in a flexible tube fitted inside a circular pump casing.
A peristaltic pump works by providing positive displacement. Fluid is fed through the tubing by rollers that rotate squeezing a flexible tube against the pump housing. As the roller moves over the tubing, it expands and creates a vacuum to allow more fluid to enter. During operation, at least one roller closes the tubing, eliminating the need for valves. The rollers are turned either directly by a motor or by a gearbox.
The PKW Peristaltic Metering Pump is, quiet, valveless, self-priming, and reversible.
